Anti-Shine for Oily Skin
Have you ever taken a picture and you absolutely loved it, everything but the shine on your face? Well this has happened to me a ton of times. I have super oily skin and while I'm grateful to have natural moisturizers working to keep my skin from drying out, it also hinders me as well. I'm constantly blotting my face and checking in the mirror to see if I have 'the glow' and not the healthy glow oh your skin looks exuberant either, I'm talking the shine like you have vaseline on as moisturizer. That is SO not cute! I recently learned of a free and effective way to blot my face using the paper toiletseat covers in public bathrooms. They are effective and FREE, however this still doesn't suffice. I still wanted something that eliminated the need to blot my face and wha la ;0) I discovered SMASH BOX Anti-Shine. This stuff is like gold in a bottle. This is my second day wearing it and at first I thought it wouldn't work because I still had sheen on my face at work around the time I left the first day but I think I didn't apply enough. Today I put a tab bit more on and I'm very impressed. My makeup looked matte all day long. Now while this product sells for $27 a tube it is well worth it to me. If you have oily skin and are looking for a fix try it, you won't be disappointed.
I've also started incorporating oil cleansing into my skincare routine. Unlike water, some oils can actually absorb oil. I use 1/4 part castor oil and 3/4 parts jojoba oil. I put them in a tiny spray bottle, spritz my hand and then gently massage my face. Since they are both oils they are dually used for makeup removal. After the oil is thoroughly massaged I run hot water over my wash cloth and let it sit on my face for about two minutes. Castor oil has detoxifying properties so the heat helps this take place while steaming your face and opening pores for proper cleansing. I then take some cotton balls spritz with apple cider vinegar to tone my skin Once I am all clean I shock my pores closed with cold water. You can do this for a morning and evening cleansing routine. Since you use the oil to cleanse you may not even need to apply additional moisturizer. If you do I would recommend Jojoba oil or Grapeseed. They are both wonderful!
Well ladies I shall be jetsetting off to Mexico in the morning. Now I'm going to go celebrate with Jason before we have to be up at 5 AM lol
Have a great weekend chicas ;0)
