It's time to forget about the "it girl" days of nicole richie, miss moss, lezlo, etc. The new fashion icons today, are strong beautiful females with talent, stylist sans style, and talent of their own.
1. Sacsha Pivovarova: This russian born model has not only been blowing up on the runways for over three years now but also, is an accomplished artist as well. While her drawings are mostly potraits of herself and fellow model friends like lovely Jessica Stam and Snejana Onopka, using obscure materials such as old wine and coffee. In 2007, her work was displayed at an art show in Paris for the first time. Last year, in Matthew Williamson's fall ready to wear she strutted the runway holding one of her own self potraits. In the modeling world, Sasha continues to grow as a model as well scoring several campaigns this season including Prada.
2. Emma Watson: Best known for playing the quirky-cute Heromoine Granger in the Harry Potter films, in the last couple years this it girl has been highly recognized and praised on the fashion scene. Sitting front row next to Gwenyth Paltrow at the BUrberry show, Emma flaunted a sexy golden mini dress. Last season she even scored the Burberry campaign. What i love most about Watson is her modesty and her seemingly positive attitude to tward acting. She is actually currently studying acting at Brown University which, I think is awesome that she chose to go to school despite her obvious financial stability.
She also dated the sexy Johnny Borrell of Razorlight!
3. Alice Dellal: This spunky/sexy model and it girl of the present has graced the runways, london party scene, and sexy lingerie brand, Agent Provacteur for about 2 years now. KNown for her rebellious attitude, sexy-punk style, and of course, that half shaved head, Alice has become the muse for many artists and designers including Alexander Wang (!). She recently refused to get rid of her signiture hair style when her agents told her she needed to in the interest of getting more jobs. I thought that was pretty bad ass. haha. Anyway, I think she is absolutely beautiful, and abstactly sexy.
4. Lara (hot hot hot) Stone: WOw, the photos above pretty much say it all. She is a true woman. Her body is bizarely perfect, her face (sexy brown eyes, peaches and cream complexion, and that sexy tooth gap) sits on top of a body of perfection and sex appeal (those fleshly breasts, long slender legs and beatifully sculpted arms!) Damn. Ressembling the 60s icon, Briggite Bardot, this talented model seems to exude sex appeal flawlessly while still maintaing the look of high fashion and chicness, which in my opinion, is very rare and difficult to do. Her emotion and attitude expressed in her photos always seems to have a pefect balance of the two. Sadly, she kind of labelled "the normal girl" in the modeling world which is ludicrious because she is still quite skinny in comparison to most women.
5. Clemece Posey: This soft and girlie frech beauty is also probably most recognized by the masses for her work in the Harry Potter series as well. However, in the recent years, Clemence has quickly gotten herself on the fashion radar. With her soft features, and beautiful pale blue eyes, this beauty landed the campaign with the likes of fellow icon Chloe Sevingy, for Chloe's new fragrance. The ads are stunning by the way. She has also been a frequnt to Chanel's shows in Paris sitting with Miss Watson and other it girls.
