What are Your Magic Numbers?

Back in the day the ideal measurements for a woman was 36-24-36. According to Size USA, Barbie's measurements, if she were life size, would be: 39-23-33. To give you a history Marilyn Monroe, easily one of the most beautiful women according to perfection standards set by men, had the measurements of 36-24-36 circa 1940's but often arguably was a size 16, in vintage standards that is. Remember vintage clothing was cut smaller back then.

Anywhoo I woke up with my measurements on my mind this morning so I decided to take them.

Drumroll please...........

Bust 35, Waist 28, Hip 39

Weight as of this AM 135lbs

My goal is a 24-26 inch waist and maybe 40-42 inch hips :0)

How to take your measurements:

1. Start with your Bust and pull the tape loosely around the fullest part of your breasts.

2. Pull the tape around your waist which should be the smallest part of your abdomen about 1 inch above your belly button.

3. Pull the tape around your hips which should be the area on which you sit (your bum).

Quick tip: If you don't have measuring tape get a FREE one from your nearest IKEA.

Please know that there is NO perfect measurement for a woman and you can set your own standard. Measurements are helpful in tracking weight both loss and gain as well as useful for clothes fittings.

Don't be discouraged if you do not like what the tape reads. Use it as a tool to whittle it down using my previous post on the H frame. Good luck!
