A normal day at school ...

Ce matin , au lycée , j'ai pris de magnifiques photos avec mes amis . Et comme vous pouvez le voir , ils ont un véritable don pour poser ( rires ) !

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I hope everyone is nice and full and sleepy and ready to shop Black Friday sales in the morning! :)
Anyway, other than sleeping and eating all day long, I have been writing a bit and looking through photos for inspiration for my love zine. I found some wonderful photos and I have decided that I am going to title the zine "love will tear us apart," after the incredible Joy Division song and photo that i found.

This is going to be the photo featured on my love is like a cigarette page with the two poems that i did for it.

fucking rad photo

Also...here are a couple of poems i wrote (very rough keep in mind)

And this is how it feels

this is how it feels
never ending, spinning wheels
I can't breathe as my heart is bending
watch me suffer slowly, melting away your ideals

this is what its like to wish-
that I wanted you to feel like this
the initial intoxicating bliss
is so darkly contrasted with its
evil opposite

this is how i know i loved you
when i watch the sad sun set
red fading to blue
as i bow my head down low
vomitting regret.

as i wake up each day like relief after a nightmare
only its not a dream-
sadly i'm alive some how, some way, some where
and just like in June, i can still feel
and this is how i know it's real.

I hate you so much
and I miss you so badly,
as I watch you just walk away
so easily, so gladly

and this is how it feels...

every day, pain will not blow away

biting into the poison apple
and driving down your street
again, one day, this day, this pain-
everyday, in some way,
is all the same.

Looking for truth, though looking through it-
on your block with no honest microscope to spare
whether or not it was worth this
down the empty streets, with all the time in the world
yet, no time to care.

watching the sun set into the blue
now, then, again, when?
I am not trying to forget its abandoned hue.
I am not returning to the spot of ours
the place where we used to lie
and get lost in its spiraling view
And I am not anticipating the next time, the next one, and now
and the time where you will not let me start over new

the same day, everyway, the same songs
they play over and over, and the songs that will not
let you just fade away...
just stay.

you don't though though they never fade away
and i don't want them to, in a way
like everyday,
because i miss you.
I
just
miss
you.

The following poem is just a short one (perhaps incomplete, though i'm not sure just yet), written about a wonderful friend who is, in theory, perfect for me and I kind of wish I could fall in love with him. But, maybe that's why were such great friends.

If only

The way you speak and the way you think
the way you look at her
and the way you stare at me
how you hug and, how you still believe in Love
why I still choke each day though you see the light in me
far more than he.

Micalaneous News...
1. I just saw Twilight for the second time this evening. I know it's quite pathetic especially being that I have never even read the books. HOwever, I did try after seeing the second one, New Moon. The writing was so horrible that it, ironically, ruined the movie for me, which is pretty rare and usually the contrary. But look, Edawrd Cullen is so beautiful in every way and even the new warewolf, Jacob had me drooling. My word! the kids is only 16...wow, i cannot believe I am writing about this right now!

2. I am really, really, obssessed with this new nail polish color by chnanel called Jade. Karl Lagerfeld even had all of his models wearing the spunky green color in his fall ready to wear show. I love, love, love it! It's a bit pricey though, at $19 for a teeny, tiny little bottle so, I have been looking for knockoffs. I found one of OPI's new colors, Green-wich village to be pretty comprable to to Jade.
Here is brittish fashionista, Alex Chung sporting the quirky color!

(Kind of hard to see, I apologize!)

3. Current Playlist
Since becoming a little obssessed with the new twilight movie, I listened to its soundtrack which features Lykke Li, Editors, Death Cab, Sea wolf, Grizzly Bear, and Bon Iver, and others. Its an epic soundtrack even if you totally hate the fucking saga !
other than that....

Talking Heads-air
Elliott Smith-thirteen
the cranberries-dreams (oldie but, goodie!)
Bob Dylan-sarah
Joy Division-atmosphere
Yo La Tengo-you can have it all
The Smiths-stop me if you think that you've heard this one before
The Velvet Underground-rock and roll
David Bowie-heroes
Le Tigre-deceptacon (an old high school favorite, brought back to life!)
Andre Nickatina-killer whale

Fall and Winter time seem to make me very nostalgic of past falls and winters in particular, the fall and winter of 2008. I changed a lot as a person and became all in all more happy and in control of my life. Slowly, I feel like I lost that control along the way and turned to unhealthy habits to try to turn that around causing me to become more and more anxious and beginning the cycle of misery again. Now that I am single again, I feel like I have more time to myself which is so nice. I have more time to think and just kind of be without anyone interfering with that special time or creating unintentional obligations for me to commit to. Its been nice. I have learned a lot of lessons this past year within both my personal and financial lives. I feel like I have really grown as a person and have gotten to know myself much better as well. Being alone right now is really good for me i feel like despite the initial sense of loss and emptiness. I feel like I have become much closer to my family without actually spending more time with them if that makes any sense what so ever. Just being at home and seeing my mom and my sister each day because I subconciously need their support has strengthen both relationships. Also, of course me starting to work with children has enriched my life so much. It really reduces my anxiety and unrational fear of aging so much because it gives me something to look foward to. I know that I am not multi talented in many areas of life but, I know that I will make a great mother.

Anyway, random tangent or rant, whichever but, perhaps it was appropriate for Thanksgiving. Happy holidays :)

STOP dressing your 6 year old like a SKANK!

Now I'm sure that you are all familiar with the fashionistas pictured above. These are the 'Brats' also known as the big crave among young girls everywhere and why wouldn't they be? Look at them...They are all wearing the latest high heel stilettos, mini skirts, capri pants, eyelashes and long flowing hair. These dolls are meant for young girls not teenagers right? So why do they look like 18 year olds going out on the town for some fun? If you are a mother of a young impressionable girl I'm sure you've already had your battle with fashion and what you will and will not buy to adorn her little body. What's available in the stores these days for the little tikes? It doesn't seem like there is much of a difference between the 7-16 and Juniors section to me. Shoot if you're small enough you could probably buy something size 16 and wouldn't feel like you are sporting a juvenile item either. Even if you don't have a child yet, like myself, I'm sure you have seen the little primadona's walking around with sequins, fringe, neon glitter tank tops with big red lips across the chest, fishnet sleeves, mini skirts, off-the-shoulder dresses, halter tops and even sexy bikini's for a child with NO chest! What happened to the soft colors like lavendar, baby pink and pale yellow that I used to wear? I even have a hard time buying baby shower gifts for girls because of these fashion designers poor taste. These little girls wear t-shirts that say "Jail Bait" "Girls Rule and Boys Drool" or sweat pants that say "Juicy" or "Hot" on the butt. No wonder older men are taking a mini glance at your 8 year old because she is advertisizing that she is a part time Vegas showgirl with skills for sale on her ass!!!!!! What does a 7 year old need with a belly shirt anyways? I sure hope things change when it's my turn to take my little girl shopping or else she will be wearing combat gear with a little pink sprinkled in here and there ;0) I guess it's the parents responsiblity to opt out of buying trashy clothes like that and stop dressing their 6 year olds like skanks and perhaps maybe just maybe these fashion moguls will go back to the drawing board and rethink a few things. On Nov. 17th, some of fashion's biggest stars stepped out to honor new talent in the fashion design world, at Diane Von Furstenburg's CFDA awards in NYC. As usual the event was packed with a list to D list celebrities, new designers, famous designers, heirresses, runway models, editors, etc. The winner for this year? Sofie Theallet. Here are some photos from the posh event...

The lovely Lily Donaldson

Timeless beauty, Nicole Kidman with Lanvin's
Alber Elbaz

model Anja Rubik

Blake Lively

Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte

CFDA founder Diane Von Furstenberg with the three finalists.

Vogue editor in cheif, Anna Wintour

Ashley Olsen

My favorite, Alexander Wang with the Traina sisters
(whoever they are...)

Best Dressed:
Ashley Olsen. I love her sophisticated and mature style. While she wears fashion and trends that are, in theory, for women decades older than herself, she seems to always pull off the simplicity of the designs in such a beautiful way that I have never seen anyone else. I love the silohuette of this dress and the color is absolutely stunning on her. WOWOW. She looked amazing.
Worst Dressed:
Surpirse, surprise...Blake Lively. I'm sorry I know she has been dubbed the new all american sweetheart but the girl does not know how to dress in general and, for her body type. She always manages to make the most elegant looks somehow look cheap, trashy, and sloppy. I love this simple, fuchia hued shift dress but I would have loved to see it on someone like Nicole Kidman. I just don't understand why someone with such a nice, tall, figure always manages to look as if she is squeezing into her clothing. Anyway, nothing personal to Blake but this did not work for me.

Cool Colabs...
Luckily for us "frugalistas," (not by choice!), there are a bunch of really great designer collaborations. Rodarte has designed a line for Target's infamous and usually pleaseing, GO international line, Sexy shoo designer Jimmy Choo has come out with an affordable line for trendy bargain super-shop H&M, and quirky designer Christopher Kane has designed a fabulous line for british shop TopShop.  Kane and Choo's lines are availible currently and Rodarte's target line will arrive in stores on Dec. 20th. Here are some looks from each collection! Pretty impressive.

Rodarte for Target
(I apologize for the low grade photos but finding them was quite a hassle. Apparently images of the upcoming collection were leaked to Ebay and then were forced to be removed by every site! I had no idea that keeping the line's details secret was such a scandal!) The line, from the limited photos I saw however, looked quite stunning.

Well this photo pretty much speaks for itself. Sexy

From everything I have seen thus far, Kane's line has impressed and tempted me the most. I love his use of vibrant colors mixed with a majority of neutrals and black. I love how he mixed quirky, girlie pieces with tougher, sexier, and kind of biker girl ones. Check out the rest of the line on topshop.com
its suppppppeerrr awesome.
ME like.

Wish <3 List

So the holiday season id officially here (that means buying people presents that they do not need). These are some things that I would absolutely LOVE for x-mas! Because of my sticky financial situation, I have not gone shopping in forever. For me, this is like 3 months. It's difficult because I just stay up all night online shopping and placing items in my wishlist never to be fully moved to the check out section. (Sad Face!)

Also, Urban.com is holding a contest this season where you can make a wist list on their website, submit it in by Dec. 8 and then be in the running to actually winning everything on it! That would be killer...

I addition to these items, I more than anything want to take a trip to Brooklyn/New York City all by myself to just kind of live...even if it is just for a weekend or so...explore by myself, check out museums, awesome thrift stores, yummy food, etc. I think it would be nice to just kind of go on an adventure solo since I have never really been there by myself unless I was working there.

Juicy Hardy Riding Boots in Black...
the price is a little depressing at $458 :(
But they are the perfect heeled riding boots with the cow girl accent on the top!
I saw a girl wearing these in LA the other day and have been obssessed with them since

J Brand Skinny High Waisted Jeans in Bardot
I love this jean, i have it in the dark wash but, I realize that I am in desperate need of dark pair of denim. They look killer with vintage silk blouses and lace up boots..!
these are around $180
shopbop.com

Dotted Body Suit
It's kind of difficult to see the gorgeous, vintage 1950's feel of this one piece but its is lacey and dotted.
It would look gorgeous tucked into those bardot skinnies!
$42 urbanoutfitters.com

American Apparel Zipper High Waisted Shorts in Dusty Blue
I have wanted these for months but at $48 they are quite an investment for me these days.
Anyway, I love the color and they fit amazingly.

Dolce and Gabbana Perfume: The One
Even though my signature scent is Hannai Mouret, I love this scent
It's way different from what I usually wear, a lot more florally rather than musky/spicey but, i like it a lot.

Velvet Dress
Sexy, fitting yet, long enough
I simple twist on American Apparel's signiture long sleeve dress.
I love it, perfect for the season (holiday parties, new years, etc.)
American Apparel $45 about...

OKay, I know this is my second pair of boots on the list but I can't help it
I have a shoe problem!
Jeffrey Campbell knee high lace up boot around $250
freepeople.com
LOVE !

I know, I know....last pair of boots on here I promise!
Besides, they are sold out anyway. Damn. I love these.
I feel like I would get a lot of wear out of these due to their low height and trendy lace up style.
$70 about...urbanoutfitters.com

American Apparel Floppy hat.
I LOVE this hat, I know I have mentioned this one on previous posts. But yes, still this hat is no where to be found in my collection. I just think the color is so rich and beautiful and I love the vintage feel of the style. Very 60's
American Apparel...around $40

...Well there are some of my desired items for the season...posting these, contrary to what I thought, did not make me feel any better about my financial status. AHHH!

PLaylist of the Week:

Cass McCombs-windfall
Sonic Youth-I'm not there
Dinosour Jr.-feel the pain
Regina Spektor-hotel song
Bright Eyes-something vague
Yo La Tengo-autumn sweater
Bob Dylan-lay lady lay
Nirvana-something in the way
Lauryn Hill-that thing
Beach House-used to be

Got a new haricut this past week...
