Has your makeup expired?

Throughout the year while acquiring makeup, it is easy to forget when you purchased that favorite lippy, mascara tube or foundation. Sometimes the makeup will tell you its old by way of a fowl or weird odor, this is most known to happen with old foundation. Here are some expiration markers to remind you of makeup expiration dates.

My advice would be to purchase some of those circle or dot stickers and write the date you opened the product on it and underneath the expiry, that way you know when to toss it.

Expiration dates — beginning from the time you first open these products Powders and Shadows: 2 years

Cream shadows: 12 to 18 months

Foundation: 1 year

Lipstick & lipliner: 1 year

Mascara & eyeliners: 3 months

Makeup brushes: Clean weekly

Makeup sponges: Replace weekly, or when sponge becomes soiled

Tips for keeping your skin clean and your makeup fresh

— Smell your cosmetics; if they have an unusual odor, they may contain bacteria and should be discarded.

— Never share makeup with your friends, especially things like lipstick, eye pencils, mascara etc. You can risk transferring unwanted bacteria leading to unsightly infection.

— Always make sure that products are closed tight and stored out of sunlight, as this can destroy the preservatives.

— Don't use any eye products if you currently have an eye infection.

— Never add any liquids to products unless directed by the manufacturer.

— If there are any changes in color and texture, dispose of the product immediately.

— Avoid sampling makeup at department stores when possible. If you do test, never apply directly from the makeup. Instead, use a clean, disposable applicator (i.e., cotton swab, sponge) to apply cosmetics.

Hello "Dynasty": makeup of the 1980's returns ...

Go for the Glam! As seen on the spring/catwalk at Vuitton and Galliano - inspired by the 1980's "Dynasty" high-glam chic look - claret lips are hot!
Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Tint in Royal Plum

Steps to wearing your lips like Krystle Carrington:
1. Start by exfoliating your lips, using a dedicated microexfoliating scrub or try a very soft toothbrush.
2. Use the Max Factor Lipfinity tint to outline the edges of your lips, it's easy with this pen/marker. The smudge the line with your finger to soften the look before carefully colouring in your lips with the flat of the pen.
3. Top with a mauve colored gloss (Try: Max Factor Max Effect Lip Gloss in Cloudy Red). You can smooth it all over your Lipfinity Lip Tint as there is no chance of colour bleeding.

Snakeskin, Suede and Fishnets

I wore a thrifted suede skirt along with my blue & grey pin striped shirt from New York & Co. I jazzed it up with my grey fishnets and snakeskin Mary Jane's.

S&M

Have you viewed Rihanna's S&M video? I don't see what all the fuss is about over it.

Singing, "I may be bad but I'm perfectly good at it!" Do you think she and Chris Breezy will ever rekindle their flame? Side note he is so not cute with that Amber Rose haircut, do you like the new blonde do?

Rihanna would like everyone to stop asking her about her turbulent relationship with fellow singer Chris Brown. Over the weekend, a fan told Rihanna via Twitter that she should stop answering questions about their relationship, to which Rihanna replied, quote, “Agreed! People won’t stop asking about!” She goes on to say quote, “I get it, they wanna raise awareness to young girls! But it ends up just making me look bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry!” Chris Brown also encouraged fans to move on over the weekend, asking members of “Team Breezy” and “Rihanna Navy” to come together. He tweeted, quote, “Love team breezy & thank you rihannanavy for supporting ya girl.”

Each One Teach One

We all have talents bestowed upon us by God. I believe that each and every one of us has been gifted something very special, something that resonates deep within us and brings about a joy unparalleled. Do you know what your gift from God is? If so are you sharing it with others or are you keeping it all to yourself?

The American dream is quoted as "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness!" You see this pursuit of happiness day in and day out. People crowd the malls and local boutiques in the pursuit of happiness. Others flock to relationship seminars hoping to find the answer to finding their soul mate. Millions consult financial guru's to learn how to navigate the waters of financial turmoil and to become credit worthy again. But what if these talented people decided to keep all that knowledge to themselves? How would we ever survive?

Searching for your pursuit of happiness solely for self fulfillment is dead ended. Yes you should dream and speak your aspirations into existence but when they come alive you ought to share them with others to find TRUE happiness & success.

If you're a musician don't compose soley for self, listen to your audiences heart and speak to them. If you're an artist, don't paint or draw soley for self, pay attention to your fan base, ask them what they would like to see more of.

If your gifted with the art of relationship and marriage, help others to reach that level of happiness in their lives by sharing your wisdom. Remember that if your dream is marriage your fulfillment of happiness will come from fulfilling your partner, your children and those you impact as a couple.

If your skilled in the art of styling, help others to experience the joys of 'dressing the part.' Everyone wants to look their best and simply sharing your fashion secrets could greatly improve the lives of some wanting to look and feel better.

If you have been blessed with the gift of discernment help others see what it is you see.

If your area of expertise is physical fitness, health or nutrition find a way to help others to reach their fitness goals.

If your gift is being financially savvy, explore opportunities to help others out of debt and avoid financial pitfalls with your knowledge base & personal experience.

In closing, whilst in the pursuit of your dreams and finding happiness pay attention to those placed in your lives. Challenge yourself to find ways to use your dream, talents and gifts to feed others. Find the connection. ♥ There is more than enough success to go around ☺

" …Freely you have received; freely give" (Matthew 10:8, NIV).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

There are a lot of people who are successful in this world. They’ve accomplished their goals in the public eye. But being successful isn’t just about what you make happen for yourself, it’s about what you make happen for others. It’s when you realize, “God has blessed me not to just sit on my throne and let everybody see my accomplishments; God has blessed me to be a blessing to others. God has helped me to win so I can help somebody else win.” In other words, it’s when you realize, “God helped me overcome this addiction, now I’m going to go find somebody and help them overcome.” Or, “God has blessed me with a happy family. I’m going to go find a family that’s struggling and help them get back on track.” That’s what being successful is really all about.

Today, look for ways to help others succeed. Reach back and give freely of the talents and abilities you’ve been given. As you do, you’ll rise up higher and live in the fullness of the blessing God has prepared for you!
