Jumping the Broom

After seeing Paula Patton on Chelsea Lately plugging her new movie, Jumping the Broom, I knew I wanted to see it. This weekend we ventured to our favorite AMC theater to watch the highly anticipated movie. I missed the first few minutes of the film and the movie was packed so we had to sit in the front but it was totally worth it. The all star cast of Paula Patton (bride), Laz Alonzo  (groom), Loreta Devine (mother of the groom), Angela Bassett (mother of the bride) and Romeo & Megan Goode (cousins of the bride) made the movie a must see. Everyone of the cast members seemed to be good looking. I loved Tasha Smiths Senegalese twists, Romeo definitely has grown up to be a very fine young man, Laz has a great body too, Megan's makeup and skin was flawless, Paula Patton is just pretty for no reason and talk about her body after just giving birth FML what am I doing wrong? smh She makes me want to hit the gym right now! Even the chef was fine! Everything from the hair, makeup and wardrobe was on point! The Watson's house was also amazing and made a beautiful backdrop for the story line.

I am definitely a chick flick fanatic. This movie was a tear jerker for me as well. I don't know why but I couldn't stop the tears lol luckily the movie theater is dark but I'm sure I wasn't the only one feeling a tug at my heart ;0) I loved the fact that the Watson family was well to do; which made a great contrast in the story line when the husband..... well I won't ruin it for those that haven't seen it yet. I really didn't expect that turn in the story and I love when I am pleasantly surprised by movies.

Let's talk about Loreta Devine's character for a second. Talk about being a b!tch dang! She sickened me throughout the entire film and I am sure that woman is a real personality for some. I was too livid with her for acting the way she did but as they say misery loves company. smh She was definitely the villain of the film.

My fiance' said every woman walked away from the film thinking, "I wish I had a man like that!" after swooning over how romantic Laz was towards Paula during the fall out. I think if any woman was wishing that for herself then the film was a huge success. Who doesn't love romance? I'm no longer a hopeless romantic because I've found my dream guy and this film definitely cemented that appreciative feeling of love for my Mr. Right. ;0)

Did you ladies see the film? What are your thoughts, reactions, opinions?

Happily looking forward to jumping the broom myself,
