This weekend I took a stroll through the Lenox Mall with my mother and mini and we stopped in one of my favorite shops, Artful Living. While browsing Mini and I saw an old lampshade adorned with all types of beautiful earrings and we both thought what a great way to display and organize all of your large earrings. Of course I had to make one of my own! Luckily for me, since I a a recycler, I just so happened to have a taupe suede lampshade and broken iron base in my garage. I put the two together and poked holes in the shade using a simple thumb tack allowing my earrings to slide through the fabric more easily. Check out my DIY earring organizer atop my night stand.
I also decided to launch my Etsy store VintageMannequin by Charlotte Marie as I've been dreaming about being a fashion designer or boutique owner since college graduation. I often go thrifting and find such beautiful pieces that are either not quite my style or way too large but would be just perfect for someone else. Charlotte Marie is the name I want to give to my unborn daughter. It is a fusion of my Mother's name (Charlitta) and my Great Aunt's name (Mary). I think the name is very feminine, vintage and elegant. It's perfect for her and my vintage boutique. As soon as my mannequin comes in the mail I will be posting pictures of items for sale. I can't wait, so excited that a dream has come to fruition.
