Put on your Red Dress

Going to college in Atlanta has definitely given me a different perspective on the night life that the city has to offer. Back in my college days I recall going to clubs like Kaya, Velvet Room, The Shark Bar, Studio Central and where ever a Tri-State party was held. After college my friends and I got into wine tastings and doing more "well to do" social activities like Cafe 290 or Churchill Grounds where I celebrated one of my birthdays. Now a days I'm all clubbed out. I started early back in New York going to Minisink in Harlem lol (shout out to you if you know where that is) so now that I'm 30 years old the club scene is a bit boring. I'm no longer looking for a man, not that I was then and I don't enjoy grinding my hard earned shoes into the concrete floors either.

These days I'm seeking a more mature venue with dim lighting, a proper dance floor, lounge seating in addition to tables (bar and chair level), a great DJ or live band, decent pricing on the drinks and delicious food. Is that too much to ask for? I'm all for people watching, I can sit for hours just observing folks whether it be at a park, the mall or a restaurant but you can't really observe in a crowded bar can you? I recently ventured to Twist in Buckhead with my friend Crystal and it was like a meat locker in there. Boy we couldn't have gotten out of there sooner! You couldn't even step two spaces to either side of you without bumping in to someone. WAY too crowded for me.

So until some venture capitalist or entrepreneur decides to open a decent lounge in Atlanta my red dress will be hanging up in the closet ;0(
