World's Most Dangerous Drug

Often times while driving to work I will hear a commercial for the Meth project. The Meth Project is a large-scale prevention program aimed at reducing first-time Meth use through public service messaging, public policy, and community outreach. Central to the program is a research-based marketing campaign that graphically communicates the risks of Meth use. The Meth Project has been repeatedly cited as a powerful private-sector response to a devastating social problem and was recognized by the White House as one of the nation's most effective prevention programs. http://www.methproject.org

Growing up in the 80s we were subjected to the crack cocaine epidemic. Do you remember those advertisements with Mc Gruff telling us to Say NO to Drugs? I do but what do they kids these days have? Their after school programs are limited, parents have to work longer hours or two jobs to make ends meet so children are often left up to their own devices between the hours of school ending and mom coming home. Many of these households only have one  parent to dish out the discipline so the slack is picked up by the streets.

When listening to some of these commerical's a cynical side of me kicks in thinking how in the world do you get hooked on drugs in 2011? No one in their right mind who has seen a drug addict thinks, when I grow up I want to be just like them! But yet and still there are many children who graduate from gateways like cigarettes, alcohol, and weed to then more powerful drugs like cocaine and lastly Meth. Meth is reported at 3 times more powerful than Cocaine. During the trailer, The World's Most Dangerous Drug, it was stated that a high can last for 12 hours. 12 freaking hours trippin! Can you imagine?

Watch the trailer below and let me know your take on why we are battling SO many people choosing this life.
